Cats are curious creatures with discerning palates, and while most of your kitty’s diet should be a nutritionally complete cat food, it’s common for pet owners to wonder what human foods are safe for their cats.
Some human foods can indeed be shared with cats in moderation, you just need to know how to choose cat-friendly snacks with nutrients they need.
Whole Grains: Oats have a lot of protein and easy to make. Some cats like corn, and polenta, a coarsely ground cornmeal. You can also can try brown rice, barley, and wheat berries, but you need to mash them before giving them to your cats. Make sure any grains you give are cooked so your cat can digest them.
Eggs : Eggs are an excellent source of protein for cats. But make sure they are thoroughly cooked and not seasoned. Raw eggs can contain harmful bacteria and should be avoided.

Cooked Fish: Fish contains a lot of omega-3 fatty acids, which help your cat’s eyes stay sharp as well as help with arthritis, kidney disease, and heart disorders. You can give them canned or cooked fish, since raw fish in general isn’t a good idea.
Vegetables : Try fresh cucumber or cantaloupe, steamed broccoli, or asparagus. Vegetables are a rich source of vitamins, fiber and water to help with digestion. But most cats don’t like vegetables, and even fewer like fruits.
Cooked Meat: Cats are meat eaters and they have to have protein from meat for a strong heart, good vision, and a healthy reproductive system. Cooked meat, such as chicken, turkey, or beef, are a great way to give them that. Raw or spoiled meat could make your cat sick. Make sure that it’s plain, unseasoned, and without any bones, as cooked bones can splinter and harm your cat’s digestive system.***
